Shofiqur Rahman

Shofiqur Rahman was born in Than Da village, southern Maungdaw, Myanmar. He studied up to Grade 10 and aspired to become an engineer to serve underdeveloped rural communities. Due to the genocide by the Myanmar military, he was unable to pursue higher education and was forced to flee to Bangladesh, where he now lives in Refugee Camp 14.

Currently, Shofiqur Rahman works with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) . He also serves the Rohingya community through GBV awareness, adult training, child marriage and child labor prevention, women’s empowerment, and As a CEC/member of the Rohingya Students Unity for Rights (RSUR), a Rohingya civil organization, he is committed to youth skills development and community rights.
