Roshida Begum
Women Representative , Humanitarian Expert
Roshida Begum is a dedicated Rohingya humanitarian worker and activist who has emerged as one of the courageous community voices inside the Rohingya refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Born in Rakhine State of Myanmar, she grew up witnessing systemic discrimination, violence and the long-standing persecution of the Rohingya community. These early experiences shaped her strong commitment to serving her people and advocating for the rights, dignity and safety of Rohingya women and girls.
After fleeing to Bangladesh during the 2017 mass displacement, Roshida settled in the refugee camps with her husband and children. Despite the trauma and instability, she refused to remain silent or passive. Instead, she stepped forward to support vulnerable families—especially women who faced daily challenges such as domestic violence, lack of access to essential services, insecurity and social restrictions.
