Capacity Building Training

Rohingya Students Unity For Right (RSUR) organized a capacity building training in the refugee camp to empower young Rohingya students and community members with essential knowledge and practical skills.

Rohingya Students Unity For Right (RSUR) organized a capacity building training in the refugee camp to empower young Rohingya students and community members with essential knowledge and practical skills. The training aimed to strengthen leadership, communication, and organizational abilities among participants, enabling them to play a more active role in community development and advocacy. Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants learned about human rights, teamwork, problem-solving, and community engagement.

The training also created a safe space for youth to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build confidence in addressing challenges faced within the camp. By investing in education and leadership skills, RSUR continues to foster a generation of Rohingya youth who are better prepared to contribute positively to their community and advocate for justice, dignity, and rights.

The Capacity Building Training for Rohingya Youth is a one-week, focused empowerment program designed to strengthen the skills, confidence and leadership potential of 30 young Rohingya participants. This training aims to equip youth with practical competencies, promote active community engagement and support their development as positive agents of change within the Rohingya refugee context.

Rohingya youth face significant barriers to education, skills development and constructive participation due to ongoing displacement and limited access to formal opportunities . Access to youth-focused education and skill-building activities remains critically low, with only a small percentage of youth engaged in structured educational programs in the camps. Providing targeted learning opportunities can help address these gaps and support long-term resilience and self-reliance.

Key Focus Areas of the Training:

Training sessions will build leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills that are vital for community engagement and advocacy. These elements have been central to successful programs such as the Rohingya Student Network’s leadership initiatives, which help young participants develop confidence, problem-solving, and community organizing capabilities.

Participants will gain exposure to digital literacy and practical life skills, aligning with similar youth programs worldwide that emphasize technology and advocacy tools to amplify Rohingya voices and increase opportunities.
